PTSD | CISD | EFT | TIR | Depression | Unresolved Grief & Mourning | Anxiety | Descriptions of Methods | Personal Performance Coaching | Phone Consultations

Do you know people who suffer from symptoms of depression, anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, and pains and illnesses without a known medical cause? Do you know people who have experienced an emotional or physical crisis or trauma and who want the pain to stop? In many cases, the newer methods of trauma reduction that are now available can enable them to substantially alleviate their symptoms. In many instances, the work we do in just two or three sessions will eliminate a client's presenting complaint.

Traumatic Incident ReductionUnresolved trauma is often the origin of mental anguish, including the diagnoses of depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. It is also the sole source of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I am pleased to announce that I have created a practice to promote rapid emotional healing and recovery. It is timeefficient and effective in resolving the negative effects of past traumas. It is unique because the extended-length sessions that I offer usually relieve the client of the stress provoked by the trauma(s).

One method that I use is called Trauma Incident Reduction (TIR). TIR is a brief, oneonone, nonhypnotic, personcentered, and highly structured method for eliminating the negative effects of past traumas. Traumatic Incident Reduction was one of four new approaches to trauma investigated and emphatically endorsed by Drs. Charles Figley and Joyce Carbonell in their ground-breaking study at Florida State University, "The Active Ingredients in Efficient Treatments of PTSD." Please see the article in the July/August, 1996 issue of The Family Therapy NETWORKER: " Researching PTSD- Going for the Cure."

I am also using many of the new energy modalities, including Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Tapas Acupressure Techniques (TAT), and Be Set Free Fast (BSFF).

I have worked with clients who have suffered car accidents, serious physical illnesses, surgeries, anxiety, depression, phobias, robberies, rapes, combat stress, attacks by animals, attempted murders, and other traumatic events. I have also successfully dealt with clients who have continued to grieve and mourn for many years after the death of a loved one. My average contact with clients lasts two to five sessions, by which time I expect and generally see a resolution of the presenting problem. Although no method is completely successful with every client, and there are no promises or guarantees of successful results, these methods, under the supervision of a skilled practitioner, are astonishingly effective and empowering. In most instances, I have seen dramatic and positive results.

EFT and TIR are especially useful when a person:

  1. has a specific trauma or set of traumas that he feels have adversely affected him, whether or not he carries a formal diagnosis of PTSD;
  2. reacts inappropriately, or overreacts, in certain situations;
  3. experiences unaccountable or inappropriate negative emotions, either chronically, or in response to certain experiential triggers;
  4. suffers unaccountably from uncomfortable feelings, emotions, sensations, psychosomatic pains, and unwanted attitudes, despite there being no obvious major traumas in evidence.

The feedback I receive from my clients indicates that EFT and TIR, as well as the other energy methods, often lead to their increased ability to function, elimination of nightmares and flashbacks, enhanced relationships, and a greater sense of empowerment and contentment.

Please do not hesitate to call me for specifics of treatment, to discuss the types of clients for whom EFT or TIR would be most useful, or with any other questions. EFT can be successfully utilized by telephone. I am available for phone consultations and sessions.

Referrals from health-care providers, clergy, and former clients are welcome. To refer a client or for more information, please proceed to the contact information section.
